Employing state-of-the-art technology and innovative production methods, the new Mirabel Voss sessions run a hybrid path: digital precision for editing, analog everything for sound. Performances are tracked through vintage preamps to half-inch tape, then flown back into the computer only for arrangement.

The centerpiece is a modular wall patched fresh for every song — no saved presets, no recalled sessions. If a sound can't be rebuilt by hand, it doesn't make the record.

“If a sound can't be rebuilt by hand, it doesn't make the record.”

Three techniques from the sessions

First, drums are recorded twice: once clean, once through a speaker placed in the stairwell, and the two are blended for size. Second, synth lines are printed while the filter is performed live — automation is never drawn, only played. Third, final mixes go to tape at a slightly hot level, so transients soften exactly the way they do on the records everyone loves.

A full studio diary with photos and patch notes will be published across the release weeks.
